Hold Onto Jesus. Listen to His Heart.
Did you ever climb trees as kid? Or climb rocks by a lake or ladders to a tree house? I do.
One thing I remember is that it was important to be careful when to hang onto something and when to let go. Hang on too long and you get stuck. Let go too soon and you fall. Timing was everything.
I also remember the importance of what to hang on to and what to let go of. Hanging all your weight on a rotted branch meant falling. Letting go of whatever moved when you reached up while rock climbing was usually a good idea.
God Gives Us Direction
These days everybody loves to tell us what to hang on to and what to let go of. Where to go and what to turn our back on. God loves us and everybody else has a great plan for our life – one meeting or event at a time. In these days so many changes are coming so rapidly.
Thankfully God gives us direction for these days. Speaking through Solomon in the Proverbs we hear:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6
Simply put, especially in these days, hold onto Jesus. Listen to His heart by reading the Bible daily. Speak to His heart through prayers, praise and thanksgiving.
Let go of anything that deviates from God’s heart as described in His Word including your own opinions, well-meaning friends advice, and the cultural propaganda the profits from how much attention it can garner.
Hold onto God’s will in all you do – He will guide you on the right path!
