Time to Refresh, Reengage, Revive

Refresh In Florida, stifling heat and dehydration work together to drain us of energy and wither our will to move forward. We need to refresh, re-engage and revive! (think “revival” times).

Re-Engage – If you’ve ever “thrown” a bicycle chain (the chain derails from the gear wheel) or experienced a faulty transmission in your vehicle, you’ve experienced unengaged gears.

Your legs, or your car engine, are delivering power, but the wheels are not turning. You need to reinstall the chain or fix the transmission to re-engage power to the wheels.

Revive – We have all watched shows where a character’s heart has stopped. Lack of oxygen or trauma to the body has interrupted the rhythm of life. Death has occurred. Suddenly, somebody yells “clear” and sends 200 volts through the body to the heart and, miraculously, it beats again. The patient has been revived, going from imminent death to life!

The “scatter of summer,” the chaos of our calendar, or the trauma of life – an extraordinarily stressful event or events that shatter our sense of security – can all work against our walk with God.

Every believer needs time alone with God, time with other believers and time serving together with God’s people to engage the world. By intentionally putting God and His Kingdom first, our soul is refreshed, our best dreams find traction and our heart beats again with God’s. We become more fully engaged with Him.

At New Hope Church, we are:

  • BECOMING fully engaged followers of Christ

  • BELONGING together

  • BELIEVING in Christ alone, and

  • BLESSING our world!
