5th Sunday Family Fun Day
Hi Friends:
I spent a LOT of time with my kids on our family vacation, and you know what? It was wonderful :-)
It got me thinking, though, about the importance of INVESTING vs. ASSUMING.
You see, I’ve known so many parents through the years who ASSUMED their kids would keep walking with the Lord … until they walked away.
I’ve known so many couples who ASSUMED their marriage would work out great … until it fell apart. And I’ve known so many fellow pastors who ASSUMED if they just “preached the word faithfully” that their churches would grow … until they didn’t.
The good news, though, is that I’ve ALSO known many like-minded people who knew the importance of INVESTING in our kids, our marriages, our churches and our communities, and I’ve seen something amazing happen when people are willing to put in the work.
The things in which we INVEST are the things that truly THRIVE.
Sunday Family Fun Day
That’s why I’m excited about this Sunday’s “Fifth Sunday Family Fun Day,” because it’s a great opportunity to INVEST in our next generation! The more they see US engaged in the service, the more they will see that following Jesus together matters.
The more they see US taking the singing and the sermon seriously, the more they will see that these things are important.
And the more they see these things are important, the more likely they are to want to follow Jesus and connect with His Word for themselves.
Of course, the opposite is true as well.
I hope you’ll join us in gathering, singing, listening, and responding as we come together to worship on Sunday morning. Because your investment in the next generation MATTERS.
Looking up with you,
~Pastor Phillip
