Are You Making Him a Priority?
Hello New Hope Family!
Is God a Priority in Your Life?
This weekend is a BIG one and I hope you are as excited as I am.
There’s no school, Thanksgiving is today, awesome deals to take advantage of at stores on Friday (yes, I like shopping if you didn’t know that), it’s rivalry weekend in college football and it’s the start of Advent on Sunday.
Now, in case you didn't notice what I did there, I mentioned Advent as the last thing on that list. For most, the Christmas season is full of busy weeks like this and making church a priority falls to the bottom of the list.
We get caught up with the Christmas party at work, meeting deadlines before the end of the year, planning for our families to come for Christmas, recovering from the hurricane season and going to your kids' extracurricular activities. With all that’s going on, making it to church may not be a priority. We’ll use all these things as an excuse to not go to church rather than use it as an excuse to need the fellowship with other believers even more.
With So Much Going on, Where Does Church Fit in Your Schedule?
The Christmas season is busy, there is no debate about that, but I believe that God is calling us as believers to make Him a priority over all things this Christmas Season.
Going through an Advent devotional on the YouVersion Bible App with your Belong Group, going to church for all four weeks of Advent here at New Hope, or even going to one of our two Christmas Eve Services at 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. are all ways to make Jesus a priority this Christmas Season.
As we celebrate Jesus’ first coming, we are reminded that He is coming again and we live continually rejoicing in the truth that He is our LOVE, JOY, HOPE and PEACE. I invite you to make Jesus a priority this Christmas season and be a part of what God is doing in our church family!
In Christ,
~Matt
