God Provides the Path of Righteousness

“Then the Lord said to Moses. Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.” Exodus 14:15

Once God has delivered us from the bondage of sin, we have only one thing to do, and to do it consistently: Leave everything behind and move forward in Christ Jesus. What are we leaving behind, the past, our sins and former ways of doing things. But the enemy does not give up easily, and goes after us accusing us of everything and anything that proves to condemn us and set us back. (Romans 8:1)

When the Israelites left Egypt, the Lord went before them leading them to the Promised Land. But when they learned the Egyptians were coming after them and faced with the circumstance of the Red Sea blocking their path, they panicked and began to doubt God’s goodness.

When a person is saved, they are set free from guilt and condemnation. But Satan is quick to remind them of their past and present sins and accuse God of not helping them. So what should a child of God do?

Move Forward in Faith Knowing You are Sealed in God’s Love

That is why God had the Israelites experience the Passover. It’s not what we do or what we have done, but it is all about what God has accomplished through His Son’s sacrifice — His shed blood is enough. (John 3:16)

“And the angel of God who had gone before the camp of Israel, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from before them and stood behind them, so that it came between the camps of Egypt and Israel.” Exodus 14: 19-20

So as Moses lifted His staff to part the Red Sea, God also provides the path of righteousness. All our sins and mistakes are destroyed covered in the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:19, Psalm 103)

“The waters flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen —- the entire army of Pharaoh Pharaoh that had chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.” Exodus 14:28
