Let's 'Go and Make Disciples of All the Nations'
Have you been seeing the great posts regarding our mission’s team as they are being salt and light to the people of Panama? I am loving that they are living out the great commission there.
While we can all live out the great commission right where we are, Jesus gives His disciples and us a clue as to where this should be carried out. In Matthew 28:19, He says, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
The words used here for “all the nations” are πάντα (panta) which means all or every and ἔθνη (ethnē) which translates a race, a nation (plural: the nations, as distinct from Israel).
Literally, all the people! I love that Jesus doesn’t leave anyone out. All ethnicities are valued, beautiful, and designed by God. He is the God of everyone!
Stand Together in Worship of the One True God
What would it look like to be standing together in worship of the One True God? I am so glad you asked! It would look a lot like Revelation 7:9:
“After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.“
Did you see it? Every nation…. that is the same word Jesus used! He is calling us to every nation, every people, every tribe, every language, every culture. What a beautiful picture of His creativity designing us all together!
I can’t wait to go on the next trip to make disciples. It could be my neighbor’s house, the grocery store, or another county, state, or country!
Let’s go meet those we will worship with for eternity!
On Mission,
Michelle Negron
