Spread Unspeakable Joy

Joy can feel out of reach sometimes. We live in a broken world that is constantly under attack by an enemy that wants nothing more than to destroy everything and everyone. We see it on the news every day.

I often think that things couldn’t possibly get worse or that the newest headline must be the tipping point for God to say, “enough is enough.”

Then, to my amazement (and what can also feel like ignorance), something new and worse happens.

The enemy loves to use anything he can to take our focus away from God. Distraction is such an overplayed card he loves to deal us, and yet we still haven’t caught on to his powerless game moves. He will use anything he can to keep us from feeling joy ,and even worse, sharing the gospel.

We can become so paralyzed by worry that we lose sight of our faith – and our joy. As believers, we walk around as if we have been defeated, stressing over things that are out of our control and clearly forgetting that the victory belongs to the Lord.

Experience His Joy

The joy that comes from the Lord doesn’t always make sense to us (or to others), especially when we consider the circumstances surrounding us. I’m not saying we should walk around in oblivion and pretend everything is perfect. We should be aware of what is going on in our world, but we should also be experiencing the joy of the Lord.

We need to hold fast to hope, stand firm in our faith, and fill our minds with the promises held in the scriptures. We have kingdom work to do. Let’s refocus our attention to reaching a lost and broken world with the hope that is only found in Jesus. Spread unspeakable joy wherever you go.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
