Storms of Life: God's Got Us

This morning, I reluctantly stepped onto my digital scale. It’s been a minute since we’ve spent time together. To my surprise, it read “Lo.”

“Aw thanks, I was hoping you’d say that!”

I wish.

Instead, this message was the battery warning. Time to replace. It can no longer run on what’s left. It needs more power.

So do I.

In the last few weeks, my life did a flip and has left me feeling drained, much like the battery in my scale.

I can’t physically clean up the pieces of my house that lay in my back yard from the flood waters that wrecked my home, and I certainly cannot clean up the overwhelming emotions that have since flooded and wrecked my soul …at least not on my own.

None of us can handle the storms of life on our own. We are not meant to. The good news is that we don’t have to!

But I Press On

I continue to pray, trust, believe and fill my mind with truth. I know these overwhelming feelings of fear, frustration, pain and heartache will soon heal and fade away.

I know my house will be fixed.

As much as I felt moments of utter loneliness and helplessness the last few weeks, I was never alone … and I will never be alone.

The same goes for you.

God is the ultimate “Energizer.” He pours into us an endless supply of strength, love, peace and comfort when we need it.

Maybe you have felt the same way in the past, or maybe you are currently facing a storm, too?

You are not alone. Lean into Jesus and let Him fill you up with whatever you need to press on.

Allow God to use your storm to grow closer to Him and to be a testimony to others:

  • Hold fast hope.

  • Take a deep breath.

  • Take one step forward.

  • God’s got you.

Hmmm….maybe I should just throw out my scale........ugh.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
